Founded by teacher/improviser Jill Olson Stuck, Storytown Improv is Chicago's only fully-improvised interactive musical theater adventure for kids and their families!
Through introduction to the core concepts of improvisation: cooperation, collaboration, positivity, and creativity, Storytown uses the arts to educate, inspire, and instill confidence in children ages 3-10.
Whether performing or conducting an improv workshop, Storytown does more than just entertain!
Storytown's game-based cooperative storytelling technique engages the imagination, promotes problem-solving, teaches communication, and nurtures self expression in a structured and positive way - all while kids are having a blast!
Storytown's rotating cast of talented "townies" is committed to creating an inclusive experience.
Our trained performer/teachers encourage involvement and keep the energy positive, while maintaining a safe space that respects each child's boundaries. Our no-pressure active participation model helps even the shyest child make their mark on the day's adventure!
Storytown performs every Saturday at STAGE 773 in Chicago, and also tours and conducts workshops.
Storytown's unique brand of entertaining education is perfect for children's birthday parties, schools, libraries, park districts, festivals, community events, or anywhere you can find kids and their imaginations!
With diverse backgrounds and a wide range of skills, our rotating cast of stellar improvisers come from all over the country - but as residents of Storytown they've all got one thing in common - making exciting experiences for every child at the show!
